Roblox crawler pulled 145.5 GB from 3D model sites

Open3DLab, SFMLab and SmutBase say a crawler identifying itself as Roblox's downloaded 1,027 files from 712 projects on October 15 and 16, likely for AI training. It came from a single AWS address and read the main page of 18,926 projects in 26,429 requests over 34 hours. Of the 712 projects, 345 (62.6 GB) are adult content.

Anthropic: IPO scrutiny, copyright fallout and new government discount

Anthropic expanded its GSA partnership to give government customers a 40% discount on Claude, estimated to save $1B. It also detailed early drug development work with six partners and acquired Mithril, a one-person muscular dystrophy company. Ars Technica pulled seven AI risk scenarios from the 93-page risk factors section of its IPO filing. Separately, a federal judge's ruling in Bartz v. Anthropic held that piracy to build a central library was not allowed, while legal acquisition of books for training was fair use.

Senators say secret FISA court ruling is being withheld from Congress

Senators Ron Wyden and Adam Schiff say the administration is illegally withholding a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court ruling until lawmakers renew Section 702. Seven months ago the court objected to search filters that let analysts pull Americans' messages without required approvals, justifications or records, but approved another year of surveillance anyway. The administration's own 180-day window for reviewing the ruling for public release closed September 13. Section 702 lapsed in June, though collection continues under the court's March approval.

PHP2Shell exploitation attempts and Tailscale SSH flaws

Wiz says it has seen a limited number of exploitation attempts of the two PHP bugs (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) and has found no public proof of concept for complete, general exploitation. Since disclosure on October 21, it records about a 67% drop in daily distinct internet-exposed vulnerable machines. Separately, Tailscale says most of the SSH issues it found concern privilege escalation by users already authorized to connect. It has fixes for most of them and is targeting a patched client by the end of Tuesday October 27. Ars Technica also reports a critical code-execution flaw in EDK2 UEFI firmware affecting most servers.
